sh1ro leaves Cloud9: One of my most difficult decisions in my career
The Russian AWPer has been removed from the star-studded roster and put on the transfer list.
A dramatic day in top-tier Counter-Strike continues with the announcement of Dmitriy "sh1ro" Sokolov's departure from Cloud9.
- sh1ro has made the decision to step down from the Cloud9 CS2 starting lineup. As much as we would like to have him be part of our team, we want to respect his choice. As a result, we have mutually agreed to make sh1ro available for transfer, Cloud9 writes on Twitter.
On Telegram Dmitriy "sh1ro" Sokolov has made a brief statement about his departure.
- I decided to leave this team, and it was one of the most difficult decisions in my career. For now I don't want to go into details: what, how, and why.
The No. 3 ranked player of 2022 is leaving behind Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov on the team. The two players have been teammates since the Gambit Youngsters days in 2019 when Abay "HObbit" Khasseno also joined later on. After being promoted to the main team the trio won several top-tier tournaments before being bought by Cloud9. A move that was highly anticipated after the two NAVI players Denis "electronic" Sharipov and Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutsky joined the team this summer. The results however have been lackluster with several early exits.
The sudden roster mania we are experiencing right now comes shortly before the deadline for submitting rosters for the BLAST Fall Finals in Copenhagen in November. The deadline is the 31st of October.
