Semmler: "The CIS region is overrated"
Is the CIS region starting to take over Europe in terms of Counter-Strike?
The CIS region almost only had Natus Vincere as a top-tier team for quite a long period of time. However, a couple of new CIS teams may begin to threaten the European region that has dominated the professional Counter-Strike scene for always. Gambit's recent rise to success, claiming the number one spot in the rankings and beating top-tier opponents, has certainly left its mark on the community. But is this the beginning of a CIS era?
In an interview with RivalryCSGO, CS:GO expert and broadcaster "Semmler" argues that it is too early to get too excited. When asked about the CIS region amongst a series of "underrated or overrated" questions he explains the reasons why he thinks the CIS region is overrated as follows:
"CIS region I think is overrated. And the reason I say this is because we're still online boys. And yes you are willing to grind, you're willing to put in more hours than anybody else and that hard work will pay off in the future, but unfortunately for you, you're coming into your prime in the online sphere. We need to see these results on LAN, face to face with your opponents.
