With IHC claiming the first qualifying spot from the current PGL Major Antwerp 2022 Asia RMR event, there was only one spot left as Renegades and TYLOO locked horns in what was a crucial brawl for both teams. On paper Renegades were the slight favorites going into the Bo3-series, however, TYLOO are no strangers to upsets themselves. An intense battle for the last qualifying spot kicked off. Ultimately it was the Australians of Renegades to claim victory and secure the prestigious ticket to the upcoming PGL Major in Antwerp.
The first map of the series was picked by TYLOO and saw the brawl start on Inferno. Despite being the pick of TYLOO, however, it was Renegades who took control from start to finish. A dominant performance from the Australians, with "Sico" playing an instrumental part in their success, it was Renegades to claim Inferno and gain a map advantage in the Bo3-series after taking home the victory at the scoreline of 16-5.
The second map of the series was, of course, picked by Renegades and saw the two teams climb their way to up Vertigo for yet another battle. Whereas Inferno proved stomping grounds for Renegades, the opposite seemed to be the case on Vertigo, at least in the first half. A confident and cohesive CT-side from TYLOO saw them ahead of Renegades at halftime at the impressive scoreline of 13-2. After switching sides, however, Renegades themselves posted just a strong defense as TYLOO. A phenomenal comeback from the Australians forced overtime as everything became tied up at 15-15. Failing to reach a conclusion in the first overtime, second overtime was needed. Ultimately it was Renegades to succeed with their incredible comeback and take home Vertigo at the scoreline of 22-20.
The 2-0 victory against TYLOO sees Renegades claim the final qualifying spot from the Asia/Pacific RMR tournament and thereby a ticket to the upcoming PGL Major in Antwerp.
