Entropiq stays alive in the IEM Katowice Play-in event as they take down Renegades with a comfortable 2-0 result to move closer to qualification. They will be up against MOUZ for a spot in the IEM Group Stage later today at 19:30 (CET). Movistar Riders also kept themselves alive in the tournament by securing a 2-0 victory over MIBR in their first-ever matchup. The Spaniards will face off against NiP later today at 19:30 (CET).

Entropiq vs. Renegades 2-0

The match was kind of a straightforward one as Entropiq controlled the game throughout the whole series. They started off by stealing Renegades’ pick of Nuke, showcasing a stellar CT-side before closing out the map in the second half when it was all too late for the Oceanic squad to do any real damage. On their own map pick of Ancient, Entropiq enjoyed another easy game. Despite losing the pistol round, El1an and company continued on to finish the first half with double digits, 10-5. The second half saw Entropiq pick up six rounds in a row to close out the map 16-5, without allowing Renegades to grab a single round on their CT-side.

MIBR vs. Movistar Riders 0-2

Movistar Riders also managed to keep their dream alive for qualification, following 2-0 victory over MIBR in their first-ever meeting.

The action started on MIBR’s pick of Ancient, where the Spaniards came out on top with a 16-10 victory. Alejandro “mopoz” Fernández-Quejo Cano stepped up huge for his team and helped them reach 13 rounds on the scoreboard in the first half with an excellent performance on the CT side. The Brazilians hoped to make a comeback when the sides switched, and quickly found success early on in the second half. However, with so many rounds on the scoreboard for Movistar Riders, the Brazilians couldn’t keep them away from grabbing their last three needed rounds. On the second map, Inferno, we witnessed a rather close affair in the first half with the Spaniards grabbing a single-round advantage on the attacking side before heading into the second half. Movistar Riders proved to be the strongest team in the end by completely shutting down MIBR’s offense. The Brazilians only grabbed one round in the entire second half and saw themselves eliminated from the tournament as Movistar Riders closed out the map 16-8 to end the series 2-0.
