New-look G2 roster takes down Complexity
G2 start of the 2022 season with a BLAST
The 2022 season of professional Counter-Strike is finally here and so is the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022 event. Beginning with, of course, Group A, we are presented with stellar matchups between four exciting and powerful teams. To start the event, we saw the new-look G2 roster take on the also newly-assembled Complexity roster. G2 were, to none’s surprise, the heavy favorites going into the matchup, despite the brawl being constricted to the Bo1-series format. The neutral ground for the clash between G2 and Complexity was decided to be Nuke, a map that both rosters, on paper, should be more than happy to play.
It was the new-look G2 roster to start the Bo1-series the strongest. Despite starting on the arguably more difficult side of Nuke as the T’s, G2 quickly gained an early 6-2 lead. Complexity did their absolute best to not get fully run over by the star-studded G2 roster, however, at the halftime scoreline of 9-6, the Complexity boys had quite the task as T’s ahead of them. And a difficult task it proved to be for the newly-assembled Complexity roster. With “NiKo” continuing as he had finished his 2021 season, it seemed too much to ask from Complexity to break down the solid defense of G2. Despite winning a handful of rounds in the second half, Complexity would ultimately have to see themselves bested. At the scoreline of 16-12, it was G2 to take home the first victory of BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022 in a confident manner.
