Liquid destroy Heroic and qualify for Fall Finals
The Danes had no chance against Liquid today
We are slowly but surely nearing an end to the ongoing BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2022 event, with not many teams left battling for a chance to reach the Grand Final as well as qualification to the upcoming BLAST Premier Fall Finals event. The Danes of Astralis had suffered a blow from OG earlier today, so Heroic would have to save face for the Danish CS:GO community when they took on Team Liquid. That, however, never came to fruition as they were met by an almost unbeatable Team Liquid roster. Two dominating victories meant that Liquid secured qualification to the upcoming Fall Finals event ahead of a disappointing Heroic side.
The first map was picked by Team Liquid and to no surprise meant a trip to the heights of Vertigo to kick things off. Vertigo has been a map that Liquid have proven themselves more than capable on and is simultaneously a map that Heroic have struggled on as of late. Starting on the arguably harder T-side, it didn't take long for Liquid to position themselves in the driving seat. A great performance from the individuals of Liquid meant a 9-6 lead going into the second half of Vertigo. Whilst the first half had been somewhat back and forth, the second half of Vertigo was nothing but one-sided. A rock-solid defense from Liquid managed to win seven consecutive rounds without giving Heroic any room to breathe. At the scoreline of 16-6, it was Liquid to take home Vertigo.
The second map of the brawl between Heroic and Team Liquid was, of course, picked by the Danes of Heroic. "cadiaN" and his troops opted for Overpass as their map pick, a map that the Danes have been good on historically. Whilst Heroic is known to be one of the better Overpass teams in the world of professional CS:GO, today seemed to be a different story. With momentum carrying over from the victory on Vertigo, Liquid posted an incredible T-sided half and secured a 12-3 lead before switching sides. Whilst Heroic seemed somewhat more comfortable on their CT-side, it was ultimately too big of a lead to catch up, and at the scoreline of 16-8, the Danes would have to see themselves bested.
