The Juggernauts move past Sprout at IEM Summer
Complexity stays alive at the $250.000 event, even though they met a strong-playing German side.
Complexity and Sprout had to dig deep after some much-needed motivation before their lower bracket matchup after both teams suffered a heavy defeat in the opening round. And owing to being relegated to the elimination bracket, the favourites from Complexity had their backs to the wall.
Despite, the huge pressure from the well-playing Germans from Sprout, Benjamin “blameF” Bremer and company managed to survive another day at the prestigious event, as they secured a hard-working 2-0 victory.
The match began on the iconic Dust2. A map, some call “AWPers Paradise”, because of its long corridors and favourable sniper angels, which Complexity AWPer, Valentin “poizon” Vasilev used to his advantage by racking up kill after kill, especially in vital and map-deciding rounds. And after a close overtime battle, Complexity succeeded in their attempt to steal Sprout’s map pick, as they secured a 19-17 win and placed themselves in the driving seat, before going into the second map.
The back-and-forth action continued on Mirage where Sprout kept pushing Complexity to the limit. However, in the end the “Juggernauts” used their experience and top-level to seal the vital win, which means an early farewell to Sprout at IEM Summer.
