Heroic players go free; ESIC release their final report

The Esports Integrity Commission has issued their final findings in the case between HUNDEN and the Danish team.

The result of The Esports Integrity Commission’s (ESIC) report in the investigation into alleged complicity of Heroic players in spectator bug exploit has come forward this Monday. The report emerges 43 days after ESIC began their investigation, due to them receiving potential damaging evidence from Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen.

The esports watchdog has come to the conclusion that neither of the current Heroic players in Rene “TeSeS” Madsen, Casper “cadiaN” Møller, Martin “stavn” Lund, and the current MAD Lions player Johannes “b0RUP” Borup are guilty in any of the alleged offences.

- Upon investigating the conduct of these individuals, ESIC was unable to find anywhere near enough evidence to reasonably conclude that these four players were guilty of any offence under the ESIC Integrity Program

(…) Accordingly, ESIC concludes that these individuals are to be deemed innocent of the conduct which are the subject of Mr. Petersen’s allegations, ESIC writes in their report.

Despite the four abovementioned players being officially cleared from any allegations, that is not the case for Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen. Read the full story in the article below.

The evidence and information that HUNDEN provided ESIC was:

- A written statement from Mr. Petersen laying out his allegations.

- Screenshots of text and messenger conversations with various individuals related to the team.

- Screenshots of a contemporaneous text conversation with an anonymous individual known as “Robert” around the time of the original spectator bug bans of September 2020.

- A voice recording and transcripts of Mr. Petersen’s conversation with Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen (“Mr. Kristensen”).

- A Non-Disclosure Agreement (unsigned) relating to spectator bug incident that would, if signed, have prohibited the players from disclosing information publicly about the incident

The claims against TeSeS

One of HUNDEN’s key allegations was that TeSeS has helped him in regards to spectator bug by boosting him into a position to exploit the bug. In their investigation, ESIC consulted a “credible and well respected” CS:GO expert, where they came to this conclusion.

- ESIC has concluded that it is most likely that Mr. Madsen had no idea what Mr. Petersen’s ultimate purpose was in being asked to be boosted into various positions in the map pre-match.
