Astralis and Heroic set to clash in IEM Katowice Play-in
The two rivals have been drawn against each other in the opening round of the prestigious tournament in Poland.
The two former Heroic players Martin "stavn" Lund og Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard will be in focus, when Astralis face Heroic in the first round matchup at the Play-in tournament for IEM Katowice. The opening round sees the two rivals fighting for a spot in the main event at IEM Katowice.
Cloud9, ENCE, Spirit, and FURIA are also among the teams in the Play-in tournament, where eight teams in total will qualify for IEM Katowice that are set to start February 3rd, while the Play-in tournament starts January 31st.
Eight teams are already qualified for the main event, and have been divided into two groups:
Group A: FaZe, Falcons, NAVI, Complexity + 4 Play-in teams
Group B: Vitality, MOUZ, G2, Monte + 4 Play-in teams
Every team qualified for IEM Katowice is guarenteed $10,000 in earnings, while the winner of the main event will take home $400,000 in first prize.
