The last match of the European RMR Group B ended with a clear-cut victory for Heroic against GamerLegion. Heroic’s Guy 'NertZ' Iluz was in the driver’s seat throughout the match and was the highest rated player on both Overpass and Mirage. The loss for GamerLegion means that they now have a very long way to try and replicate their miracle run at the BLAST Paris Major, where the team reached the Grand Final. Tomorrow they start their journey in the Last Chance Qualifier, where they need to win all their matches in order to advance to the Major. 

Heroic became the second Danish team of the day to qualify after ECSTATIC also managed to make it through the RMR earlier in the day. Astralis however, with two former Heroic players Martin "stavn" Lund and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard on the roster, were dropped down to the Last Chance Qualifier in the first match of the day. Something René "TeSeS" Madsen had time to rejoice in after Heroic had secured their spot in Copenhagen.

- It is fun to see, that they are losing. That is just how it is.

The first Grand Finalist in Katowice was found today in the match between NAVI and Heroic. The Danes were the favorites beforehand despite their poor head-to-head record against the CIS team.

But today none of that mattered. Heroic continued their impressive form from the group stage, and simply destroyed NAVI. It was especially Heroic’s T sides that were causing NAVI problems. On Inferno the big revelation of Katowice, Jakob 'jabbi' Nygaard delivered another star performance to add more fuel to his MVP candidacy leading Heroic to a very comfortable 16-8 win.

The Danes carried the momentum on to Mirage and converted that into an excellent first half. 11-4 was the score that told the story of a Heroic roster in complete control. Ilya 'Perfecto' Zalutskiy did what he could to help his team with a good overall performance, but that was the only bright light for NAVI, who still has a lot of work to do if they want to reach their previous heights.

Heroic locked in their spot in the Grand Final with another 16-8 win, and will now face the winner of G2 vs Team Liquid tomorrow in Spodek Arena.

An early treat was given to the Danish fans of Counter-Strike, as Astralis and Heroic went head to head at BLAST Spring Groups.

Both teams had lost their opening match at the event. Heroic's shocking defeat to Evil Geniuses gave way to an unexpected Danish derby in Group A.

The match started out on Inferno, where it was a one-man show from Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz that saw Astralis win their own map pick 16-10. But from here on it was all Heroic. In the next two maps, Astralis only managed to win eight rounds in total.

Heroic won 16-4, 16-4 on Mirage and Vertigo to seal the win and drop Astralis down to the knockout stage, where they will fight for their chance to qualify for the BLAST Spring Finals in a single elimination bracket. Heroic still has the chance to win Group A but will need to win against EG on Tuesday and then beat Team Vitality in the Group Final on Wednesday.

Earlier today Group C was kicked off with victories for G2 and Natus Vincere against BIG and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen has been the centre of a dramatic dispute, which has proven to be much deeper and problematic than first assumed. The controversial coach has admitted his wrongdoings in the Spectator Bug Scandal, but he's also accusing several Heroic members of either knowing or helping him exploit the bug.

The entire itself case concerning HUNDEN can be a bit tough to understand and get a grip on. Therefore, we've decided to make a comprehensive timeline of events of all the events dating back to May 2020.

A timeline of events on the controversy around HUNDEN:

According to HUNDEN, there’s some discussions and debates within the Heroic roster whether to use the “Spectator bug” or not in May.

Heroic uses the infamous bug for the first time in a match against their countrymen from Astralis at DH Masters Spring EU. According to HUNDEN, numerous players, but not everyone, are aware of the in-game cheating.

Heroic make use of the cheat for the second time, now in a match against Spirit at Home Sweet Home 5. According to HUNDEN, the same players from the Astralis match knows about the cheating.

HUNDEN is being handed a 12-month ban by ESIC, owing to his involvement in the “Spectator Bug Scandal”. According to HUNDEN, the entire Heroic team, including the CEO at that time, Erik Askered holds a meeting to discuss the ban and how to handle the situation.

Allegedly, some players were ready to go public together with HUNDEN and admit their involvement and their knowing of the cheating. The rest said that they didn’t knew about the cheating.

ESIC reduces HUNDEN’s sentence from 12 months to 8 months, owing to his assistance in the investigation.

Heroic decide to keep HUNDEN on the team by moving him into an analyst role.

HUNDEN returns to his head coach role at Heroic after having served his ESIC ban. HUNDEN once again, states that the players did not know anything about the cheating when it happened.

HUNDEN goes public announcing that he won’t extend his contract with Heroic, as he “wishes to begin a new chapter of his career”. In the same statement, HUNDEN denies the rumours of him sharing material from Heroic’s stratbook with others.

Heroic announce that they have started to take legal actions against HUNDEN, owing to contract breaches from the coach. Heroic believe to have evidence of HUNDEN sharing “confidential and sensitive information from our strategy folder with a key individual at a major competitor”

HUNDEN goes public in an interview with TV2 Sporten, to express his disbelief of ESIC not having heard him in the investigation of him. In the TV2 Sporten article, it’s said that HUNDEN will receive a two-year ban by ESIC.

HUNDEN appear in a new TV2 Sporten interview, where he this time states that some of the Heroic players knew about the cheating and the use of “Spectator Bug” back in May 2020. HUNDEN says that he won’t mention any names “because he thinks it is up to the players themselves”.

HUNDEN receives his second ESIC ban. This time a two-year ban on the grounds that his actions were "engaging a behaviour that threatened harm to the reputation and competitive integrity of esports".

HUNDEN implicates Rene 'TeSeS' Madsen with the evidence presented to Danish TV2, that the Heroic player entered the server together with his coach, and was the only player who could have boosted HUNDEN to the position, that would trigger the coach-bug. He also reveals a chat log, where former Heroic player, Nikolaj ’niko’ Kristensen writes, that everybody on the team knew about the cheating.

ESIC confirms, that they have started an investigation against the Heroic players after HUNDEN has turned over the evidence to the Esports Integrity Commission.

ESIC clear four current or former Heroic members (cadiaN, TeSeS, stavn, b0rup) for any allegations brought forward by HUNDEN, as the Integrity Commission revel their final report in the case. 

- Upon investigating the conduct of these individuals, ESIC was unable to find anywhere near enough evidence to reasonably conclude that these four players were guilty of any offence under the ESIC Integrity Program, the report states. 

In the same report by ESIC, the former Heroic player Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen pleaded guilty after he admitted his complicity in the cheating exploits of HUNDEN. However, niko were only sanctioned with minor punishment, owing to ESIC believing he was "ruthlessly manipulated" by HUNDEN, his former coach.

After a long period without any news on HUNDEN it suddenly came to light that ESIC has decided to lift his ban nine months before time.

The future of Heroic is looking promising after a good second half of 2022. An opinion shared by the management of the team, who has made sure to secure the services of jabbi, cadiaN, and stavn with contracts until 2024. Now another member of the roster has been locked in for the future.

René "TeSeS" Madsen will remain on Heroic until 2024. The 21-year-old rifler joined the team in 2020 after a stint at Copenhagen Flames.

TeSeS has won ESL Cologne and ESL Pro League Season 13 together with Heroic.

To go up against the home favourites from FURIA in front of 18.000 screaming Brazilians in the massive Jeunesse Arena is not something Heroic’s René “TeSeS” Madsen wishes to experience in the first round of playoffs at IEM Rio.

In a post-match interview after yesterday’s victory over Liquid, TeSeS spoke with us about the upcoming Champions Stage and how tough the competition is at the ongoing Major.

TeSeS and the rest of Heroic will be in action again on Thursday when the playoff stage is set to kick off. Today will feature three thrilling Bo3 series to determine the last playoff attendees, where NAVI and Liquid are among the biggest names.

After two surprising 0-2 losses, Heroic are done at IEM Cologne. René 'TeSeS' Madsen was visibly upset after the loss against MOUZ.

I'm really disappointed. I expected a lot from us and everyone does, and that's fair. We have proven that we can get out of the Groups Stage and not go 0-2, so it comes as a bit of a shock.

The last event they went to was Pinnacle Cup Championship, and at the tournament in Sweden, the Danes ended up lifting the trophy. Since then the Danish team made the debatable decision of swapping in 'jabbi' for 'refrezh', and now they are out in last place. Despite that fact, 'TeSeS' thinks they made the right decision.

It's too early to tell, but yes I definitely feel like it's the right call that has been made. We'll see in the future.

The Grand Final at Pinnacle Cup Championship had the two biggest Danish teams going up against each other. It was the Danish derby: Astralis vs. Heroic.

The brawl kicked off on Astralis' pick of Ancient, and they got off to a great 3-0 start on the T side. But their luck quickly turned around as Heroic started taking advantage of the dominant Ancient CT side. "cadiaN" and co. ended the half on an 11-1 run and headed to the T side with a massive lead.

Heroic copied Astralis and took the first three rounds as the terrorists, and after a five-round streak for Astralis, managed to close it out and take map one.

Astralis started out strong on the second map of Overpass where they got a sizeable 6-2 CT side lead. Heroic made a bit of a run toward the end, but Astralis still ended up with a lead of 9-6.

Like map one, Heroic was completely dominant as soon as they arrived on the CT side. They would only give up two rounds before they were able to throw Astralis out of the server, and hoist the trophy.

Both fnatic and Heroic were sitting on three points going into their brawl at the Pinnacle Cup Cup Championship 2022 event in Lund, Sweden. A victory for either team would mean qualification to the next round, where they would be facing either Imperial or Finest in a brawl for a spot in the Consolidation Final of the event. The loser between Heroic and fnatic, however, would have to see themselves eliminated from the event there and then. Going into the Bo3-series it was no secret that the Danes of Heroic were the favorites on paper. Currently ranked as the 9# best team in the world, Heroic faced a new-look fnatic that are yet to prove what they are capable of as a roster. Whilst fnatic definitely proved that they are capable of something very exciting in the near future, it was meant to happen today. In just two maps it was "cadian" and his troops to claim victory against fnatic and stay alive at the event. 

The first map of the Bo3-series was set to be played on Mirage and was picked by fnatic. Being the most played map in the current official map pool of CS:GO, Mirage is by no means an unfamiliar map for either team. Despite this, however, it is currently one of Heroic's worst maps as of late, which could very well be the reason as to why fnatic opted for Mirage as their pick. Heroic, however, didn't seem troubled whatsoever in the first half of Mirage. A stellar CT-sided performance with a "sjuush" on fire, meant a 10-5 lead for the Danes as the two rosters switched sides. The second half started, as the first had ended, with Heroic at the steering wheel, at least until fnatic woke up. Managing to string together round after round, the new-look fnatic roster almost managed to make a phenomenal comeback against Heroic, forcing all 30 rounds before a winner was found. Ultimately, however, it was Heroic to take it over the line at the scoreline of 16-14. 

The second map of the Bo3-series was, of course, picked by Heroic and meant a trip to Overpass as the two rosters continued the brawl. Known for their fast rotates and creative executes, Heroic are a challenging opponent to face on Overpass, no matter what team you are. Whilst this may be the case, fnatic carried on their impressive CT-sided performance on Mirage, with a strong start to their defensive half. Whilst fnatic hit the ground running on Overpass, it wasn't long until Heroic showed up. At the scoreline of 8-7, things were as close as possible going into the second half of Overpass. With Heroic on the CT-side in the second half, the Danish lead quickly became bigger and bigger and yet another comeback attempt was needed from fnatic to stay alive against Heroic. A comeback didn't happen on Overpass either and at the scoreline of 16-13, it was Heroic to close out Overpass and take home the Bo3-series against fnatic.

Heroic and ENCE had the chance to take a place in the playoffs as they faced each other in a Bo3. The teams arrived in this advantageous position after beating G2 and Outsiders in the 1-1 bracket.

Off the back of a ridiculous start from "TeSeS" Heroic took a massive 8-0 lead on the T side of their map pick, Overpass. As Heroic loosened their grip, "Spinx" stepped up to bat and amazingly led his team back into the lead with a ten-round streak. In the end, it came right down to the wire, and in the 30th round of play, the Danes were able to secure the victory.

Moving on to the second map of Mirage the first half was just about a repeat of Overpass'. Heroic started great but only barely held the lead at halftime as ENCE were ever vigilant.

Heroic picked up the second pistol round and another two were converted as a result, but that is when the ENCE hammer fell down upon the Danes. "Snappi" and co. ended the map on a 9-1 streak, denying everything that Heroic tried. Especially the A-site was a problem for "cadiaN"s squad as "dycha" and "Maden" performed admirably on the defense.

Nuke was the deciding map of the series, and after fifteen rounds it looked extremely grim for Heroic. The Danes started on the T side and were round after round stopped by the dynamic duo of "dycha" and "Spinx". ENCE had a dominating 12-3 lead at halftime.

Heroic did not have much to say after switching sides, and contrary to the first two maps of the series, Nuke ended up being a booming blowout at 16-6.

With the win, ENCE find their way into the playoffs, while Heroic will have one last chance tomorrow.

Despite the lack of Astralis at the Legends Stage at PGL Major Antwerp there is still hope for the Danes. Copenhagen Flames and Heroic both came out victorious in the first matches of the day in Antwerp.

Heroic faced Team Liqiud on Vertigo. Here it was one-way traffic in the beginning. It was not until round seven before the North American were able to find an answer to break through the defense of the Danes. Liquid managed to find six rounds in the first half, but they had one big problem. Richard "shox" Papillon had a nightmare of a game with only one kill after 18 rounds. 

The lack of impact from the Frenchman was a big problem for Liquid, who otherwise was up to pair with the Danes.

For both Bad News Eagles and Copenhagen Flames, the first-round matchup at the Legends Stage at PGL Antwerp Major was as favorable as it gets. The Danish Flames could probably not get a better draw on paper, while BNE avoided facing one of the tournament favorites. The Balkan team actually has a 3-0 record against Copenhagen Flames in their last three matches in late 2021.

On Ancient they also found themselves ahead 7-2 after a strong start on their T side. Copenhagen Flames limited the damage in the first half and could see BNE take a 9-6 lead into the second half.

After the break, the roles were reversed. Now it was the Danes on the T side. Here Flames narrowly managed to edge out Bad News Eagles in some very intense rounds and won the first round match by 16-14.

In their first game of the tournament, the Danes of Heroic faced the Russians of forZe. The map choice fell upon Overpass, a map both teams have great statistics on.

forZe got off to a good start on the T-side, winning the pistol round, and converting the second. After that point, the favorites of Heroic took over completely. "cadiaN" won the AWP-duel versus "zorte" by a large margin, and "TeSeS" was allowed to do whatever he wanted, which made it very hard for the Russians to really threaten the Danes. At halftime Heroic led by 11-4.

The second half did look a little better for the Russians as they were able to make a dent in the Heroic armor, but the lead of the Danes was just a tad too large, and Heroic picked up the win at 16-9.

The first brawl of the fourth day of Group D in ESL Pro League Season 15 was between Heroic and AGO. Heroic had looked stellar so far at the event and were unsurprisingly the heavy favorites going into the Bo3-series against AGO and for good reason. It was clear already from early on that Heroic were simply just on another level than AGO. The Polish roster had too difficult of a task at hand when facing Heroic and would have to see themselves bested in just two maps. The 2-0 win marks the fourth consecutive victory for Heroic at the event as they remain undefeated in Group D. 

The first map in the Bo3-series was picked by AGO and saw the two teams climb toward Vertigo for the first map of the series. Starting on the CT-side, Heroic posted a strong defense already from early on. An all-around impressive team performance from the Danes proved difficult for AGO to break down and despite a great showing of skill from Polish "F1KU", the scoreline favored Heroic at 11-4 going into the second half of Vertigo. After having switched sides at halftime, the Danish domination ensued once again. Five rounds were all Heroic needed on their T-side and at 16-7, they managed to close out Vertigo and take home the first map of the series. 

The second map of the series was Nuke and was, of course, chosen by the Danes. After having gained momentum and confidence on Vertigo, Heroic came flying out of the gate on Nuke. Starting on the CT-side once again, Heroic posted an almost impenetrable defense against AGO. With "cadiaN" leading the charge it was the Danes to secure a 12-3 lead going into the second half of Nuke. All Heroic had to do in the second half was to finish what they had started in the first. With confidence, they did exactly that and closed out Nuke at the impressive scoreline of 16-3

The strong Danes from Heroic are the champions at the third edition of Pinnacle Winter Series. That became a reality this evening after a dominant 2-0 Grand Final victory by Heroic, where they played against their countrymen from Copenhagen Flames.

In today’s title-decider, Heroic left no questions unanswered regarding who’s the better team right now. The #5 ranked team steamrolled over CPH Flames on Vertigo and Nuke, not letting HooXi and company reach double digits on either of the maps.

Heroic had to work hard in the end, to secure the victory against their fellow Danes from ECSTATIC at Pinnacle Winter Series 3.

The current number five in the world has been invited to the playoffs at the tournament. Yesterday they destroyed Apeks only losing six rounds in total, while the bashing continued today on Overpass. ECSTATIC only managed to win five rounds on the first map.

Vertigo was from the get-go a much more interesting map to watch. Heroic rarely play Vertigo, while ECSTATIC has the map as one of their favorites. And that did show. ECSTATIC was much more competitive and won the first half 9-6 after a good start to the map.

Heroic fought back immediately in the second half to equalize the score. Heroic's T-side looked a lot sharper with round 26 as a prime example. Here in-game leader Casper "cadiaN" Møller completely fooled everybody (including the casters) with a fake A-site attack, which caused the entire ECSTATIC team to rotate to the A-site, while Heroic planted on the B-site. 

In the end, it got very close on Vertigo. It was only in the second overtime round, that Heroic managed to fight off ECSTATIC to win the match.  

Heroic will face the winner of Copenhagen Flames vs SKADE later tonight in the Grand Final.

Despite their age, the young players have already shown incredible levels. The youngsters have been a menace so far and will be some of the best players in the future. But who will be the last youngster back at IEM Katowice to take the trophy?

If you had the chance to change anything you wanted in CS:GO, what would it be?

In this mini-series, we asked the professional CS:GO players, what they would like to change if they were the big boss of Valve. In the second episode, you can hear the answers from the three Danes, René "TeSeS" Madsen, Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth, and Philip "Lucky" Ewald.

Right now TeSeS is in Copenhagen where Heroic are preparing for the start of the last event of the year, BLAST Premier World Final. The Danish squad are slated to go up against Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov’s men from Gambit in their opening match without their highest-rated player in three months (1.11 Rating), Martin “stavn” Lund.

We got the chance to chat with TeSeS from the hotel in Copenhagen, where he went over Heroic’s year and some of the things him and the rest of the team had to experience outside of the server, as well as touching upon the loss of stavn in the final event of the year. 

Heroic's opening match against Gambit is set to kick-off on Tuesday at (19:30). The winner of the match will face off against either NAVI or Team Liquid in the upper semi-finals of the event.

Natus Vincere has secured themselves a spot in the upper final at the BLAST Premier Fall Final event, following a 2-1 victory over the Danish side from Heroic. The Russian squad is now only one match away from the big Grand final in Copenhagen, while Heroic will have to fight their way out of the lower bracket.

There is no doubt that the CS:GO community is currently witnessing the start of a NAVI era. The CIS giants have by far been the most dominant team in 2021 winning the Intel Grand Slam and the Major without dropping a single map throughout their title-winning campaign.  

At the beginning of the event, Casper “cadiaN” Møller stole the headlines after stating; “We believe we are the only team who can beat NAVI. I think they know it too, to be honest.” – cadiaN told [link:{"url":"https://www.dexerto.com/csgo/cadian-believes-heroic-are-the-only-team-who-can-beat-navi-1701643/ ","isNewTab":true,"text":"Dexerto"}] in an interview. That’s something cadiaN’s teammate René “TeSeS” Madsen agreed on, as he told the exact same to [link:{"url":"https://www.hltv.org/news/32851/teses-i-think-when-cadian-has-momentum-on-any-map-he-can-outcall-every-in-game-leader-in-the-world ","isNewTab":true,"text":"HLTV"}] in an interview. 

Whilst many must have thought those words from the two Heroic’s players could possibly have affected the Russian-Ukrainian side in a negative way mentally, NAVI didn’t seem to care when the two teams entered the server, as s1mple and company ultimately kicked the Danes down to the lower bracket of the event. However, NAVI’s captain Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov took the time to speak with us in a post-match interview, briefly giving us his thoughts on the result, as well as the statements from the two Heroic players now that they didn’t manage to beat them.
