Xizt leave Heroic amid rebuild
The Swedish coach will end his tenure at Heroic after the BLAST World Final.
A total rebuild is on the cards at Heroic after the announcement of Richard "Xizt" Landström's departure from the team.
- Based on a mutual agreement I will be leaving Heroic after BLAST World Finals. This was not an easy decision, but together with Heroic, we have come to the conclusion that it’s in everyone’s best interest to go our separate ways. I will be looking for new opportunities moving forward, Xizt posted before he thanked everyone involved during his time at Heroic.
Richard "Xizt" Landström has spent two years as the head coach for Heroic, and has been part of the big upswing that took Heroic from outsider to tournament favorites in almost any event during 2022 and 2023. An upswing that ended with the dramatic benching of Casper "cadiaN" Møller, before Martin "stavn" Lund and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard left for Astralis in one of the most spectacular turn of events this year.
The departure of the Swede has opened up for speculations about his replacement. Dust2.dk reported yesterday that Heroic is looking to snatch up ENCE’s former coach Eetu "sAw" Saha alongside three ENCE players in Álvaro "SunPayus" García, Guy "NertZ" Iluz, and Pavle "maden" Bošković, while only keeping Rasmus "sjuush" Beck from the current lineup.
Heroic and Richard "Xizt" Landström play their last tournament of year at BLAST Premier World Final starting today, where they face FaZe in the opening round.
