G2 needed three maps to win against FaZe
A fantastic result for G2 who fought a lot more for the victory than expected in a great game!
The first map on the rails became closer than expected, FaZe got a fantastic start as the CT side, where they were leading 9-6 after the first half.
It seemed like karrigan and his FaZe roster had found a way to close down the Bosnian duo, but NiKo´s troops delivered in the second half of Train. They won 10-5 as the CT side, and this was enough for G2 to take the victory on the first map.
They won the map 16-14 after a bad start, and their star player in the last couple of months huNter- couldn’t find his level.
The second map was on Mirage was a very exciting and very even map, but G2 ended up pulling the longest straw.
FaZe again got the best start on the map, and they were leading 9-6 at halftime, and it became even worse for G2, as FaZe won the first four rounds of the second half.
This meant that FaZe were leading 13-6, but somehow G2 found an extra gear and they made it to 15-14 to themselves and had a chance of winning the game.
But FaZe won the round and made it to 15-15, the map ended in overtime where FaZe ended up with the map win after a thrilling three times overtime that ended with a 25-22 map victory for FaZe.
And therefore, a third may be required to find a winner of the game, and the one who continues in the upper bracket and the loser will proceed in the lower bracket.
G2 dominated the first half of the last map, and they were leading 10-2 before FaZe got themselves a lifeline as they won the last three before the half end.
FaZe got a strong start winning the first three rounds in the second half, making the map compatible again after being eight behind, they were now only two rounds behind.
But G2 was too strong at the end, and the European organization ended up winning the game as they won the last six rounds to make It 16-8.
