G2 moves on against FaZe
G2 is through to the IEM Summer 2021 closed Qualifier lower bracket final against mousesports.
The first map on the rails was very close until G2 shifted gears at the endgame of the map.
The score was 10-10, from there it seemed like there was just one way for G2. The Bosnian duo and their roster won six of the last seven rounds and won the first map 16-11.
The Bosnian duo and their companion AmaNEk were playing on a top-level in the first map, but they couldn’t keep the momentum towards the second map.
The second map was Mirage, where FaZe ended up demolishing G2.
At the end of the first half, FaZe was leading 10-5 after a great defensive performance on Mirage.
And the impressive performance on Mirage didn’t end there, the European roster ended up winning all the rounds they had as T-side, they manage to embarrass G2 with exceptional performance.
The Canadian superstar who joined the roster in January has been amazing, also today he impressed on Mirage, where he helped his team against the mighty G2.
The third and decisive map was the legendary Dust2, where we saw a whole different game than it was on Mirage.
We have seen a clear winner in both of the first maps, but it was more even in the last and decisive map, where G2 ended up pulling the longest straw.
After the first half, the score was 8-7 to G2, but then G2 became the CT side and they impressed very much. Statistically is Dust2 the most T-dominated map of the competitive maps, and therefore is it even more impressive just how great they defended the two bomb sides.
G2 ended up winning the legendary map 16-14.
