G2 knock Ninjas in Pyjamas down to the lower bracket

The French-Balkan side from G2 have advanced to the upper bracket final of the Regional Major Ranking event after they claimed victory in a draining series against Ninjas in Pyjamas. NiKo and company have with the victory secured themselves at least a top-three finish and 1400 RMR.

G2 will take upon ropz and company from mousesports on Thursday for a spot in the Grand final, while Ninjas in Pyjamas will face off against the winner of BIG vs. DBL PONEY on Wednesday.

The action started on NiP’s map pick of Dust2, where the Swedish side put up a dominant T-side to take a 10-5 lead before halftime. G2 managed to equalize the score at 11-11 but it didn’t take long before NiP’s double-AWP setup with device and hampus paid off to deny G2’s comeback efforts.

G2’s map pick of Inferno ended up being a nail-biting game. NiKo and company stormed to an 8-2 lead early on, looking to quickly dominate the Swedish Ninjas out of the server. But once again the Swedish squad decided to go with the double-AWP setup, which gave G2 difficulties despite only needing four rounds to close out the map. NiP climbed all the way back and took the game into OT where G2 showcased a perfectly played T-side to force the decider.

The French-Balkan mixture wrapped up the series 2-0 on the decider of Mirage, where NiKo stole the show and played a massive role in the victory, delivering 28 frags to help his team close out the map 16-14.
