G2 destroy NiP in the Upper Final
The new-look G2 roster is looking fierce and ready for the new season
After the two opening matchups of BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022, things are beginning to heat up slowly but surely. With both NiP and G2 winning their opening matchup it seemed as if the Upper Final would be an intense affair to further test the 2022 rosters of NiP and G2. Continuing the Bo1-series format, the victor between the two teams was to be found on Inferno. Both teams have been tried and tested on the most played map of 2021 in Inferno, however, if “NiKo”’s last performance against Complexity is anything to go by, the Ninjas would have to bring their A-game to stand a chance.
As expected, it was the new-look G2 roster to come storming out of the gate and take immediate control of Inferno. A phenomenal CT-sided start from “JACKZ”, playing the ‘pit’ position on the A-bombsite, as well his other teammates, left NiP struggling to get going on Inferno. Once again, however, the Scandinavian Ninjas woke up when they needed to the most and managed to make the scoreline somewhat respectable going into the second half of Inferno at 10-5 favoring the side of G2. Whilst Nip managed to get somewhat going in the dying stages of the first half, it was all one-sided in the second half. “Aleksib” and his troops seemed superior in almost every aspect as they steamrolled Ninjas in Pyjamas on their T-side. Ultimately it was the hyped G2 roster to continue to live up to the expectations and advance to the Group A Final with a 16-6 victory against NiP.
