G2 cruise past BIG

With BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2022 set to reach its conclusion on August 28th. more and more teams will be sent home packing as we get closer and closer to finding a champion of the prestigious event. Battling for a chance to make it all the way to the Grand Final of the event were two big names in BIG and G2. Whilst BIG have proven themselves on a consistent basis, the firepower of G2 is something that can make any opponent quiver. Ultimately, it was the international G2 roster to prove themselves stronger on the day as they took down BIG in a confident 2-0 victory.

The first map of the Bo3-series took place in the heights of Vertigo and was picked by "NiKo" and his troops of G2. A close first half with little separating the two rosters concluded at the scoreline of 8-7, slightly favoring the G2 side. Whilst the first half had been a close affair, the second half was anything but that. A "NiKo" and "m0NESY" masterclass ensued and it seemed as if the G2 T-side was unstoppable. With BIG left scratching their heads, Vertigo concluded with G2 as the victors at the scoreline of 16-8.

Whilst Vertigo seemingly didn't bring out the German machine we know BIG to be, their map pick of Dust 2 is a strong map for the Germans and has been it for quite some time. Unfortunately for BIG, however, it is also a map that allows for the individuals of G2 to shine, and that they did. A great CT-sided half, this time with "huNter-" leading the charge, concluded with G2 in the driving seat at the scoreline of 11-4. What was a dominating first half from G2 only became more one-sided as "NiKo" and his troops kept piling on the pressure. Without too much difficulty, G2 closed out Dust 2 at the scoreline of 16-5, defeated BIG 2-0, and secured their stay at BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2022.
