G2 beat Virtus.pro to secure playoffs
The French-Balkan squad is ready for the playoffs in DreamHack Masters Spring 2021!
NiKo and company have secured a spot in the playoffs at DreamHack Masters Spring after taking down Virtus.pro 2-0 in the lower bracket final. G2 showed their best side, eliminating YEKINDAR and company in a two-map series on Vertigo and Inferno.

The series started on G2’s map pick of Vertigo where they had a slow start. Virtus.pro cleanly started to shut down G2’s offence and stormed to 10-5 lead before halftime. But as the teams switched sides, Jame and his troops weren’t able to gain momentum as the French-Balkan roster pulled themselves all the way back and took their own map pick 16-12 after winning 8 rounds in a row. G2’s NiKo stepped up for his team, wrapping up the map with 29 kills and 116 ADR.
G2 proved they were the better squad tonight on Inferno, where they completely dominated VP out of the server in the first half. The French-Balkan roster confidently slowed down VP’s attack and went off in a completely dominant half, 13-2. Virtus.pro managed to fight their way to get 7 rounds in total on the scoreboard before G2 closed out the map 16-8, wrapping up the series 2-0.
