FaZe eliminates Heroic after strong CT-sides
It was Finn "karrigan" Andersen's troops that booked the last ticket for the playoffs at IEM Cologne.
All six teams for the playoffs at IEM Cologne has been found. In the 3rd place decider in Group B, it was FaZe and Heroic who played for the last spot in the next stage of the tournament.
Both teams had suffered defeats at the hands of Astralis to drop down to the lower bracket of the group. On Mirage it became a game of CT-sides. Heroic won their 10-5, but it quickly was bestet by a perfect defense from FaZe winning 11-0 and taking their own map pick.
Again on Nuke it was the CT-side, that came to define the map. This time it was Heroic and espcially René "TeSeS" Madsen who put a stronghold on the bombsites do deny FaZe a 2-0 victory.
Ancient was picked as the decider. For the first time in the match, a T-side succeded in winning a half, which sealed the deal for FaZe. The international roster won 16-10 to make it to week two of IEM Cologne, while Heroic is out of the tournament.
