FaZe eliminates BIG from BLAST Premier Fall Finals
Finn 'karrigan' Andersen and FaZe are ready for a matchup against Astralis tonight.
In the first match in front of an audience at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, it was FaZe who came out victorious. The experienced roster looked to thrive in the Arena, with Finn 'karrigan' Andersen entering the stage with a Batman mask on to set the tone.
BIG started the match best on their map pick, Dust2. A 4-1 lead was quickly established, but then Håvard 'rain' Nygaard and Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken began to heat up. On the CT-side it was rain, who made it happen, while Twistzz delivered an outrageous T-side going 18-3 in K-D! The impressive performance from the Canadian was the driving force behind a strong second half from FaZe, who won Dust2 16-11.
Inferno was the setting for the second map. Here the momentum from the previous map carried over. FaZe made it 6-0 before BIG was able to answer back. The Germans initially had problems with karrigan, who were finding space and gaps in their defense. During the first half the ingame leader from BIG, Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz, took a tactical timeout, that seemed to wind up the Germans, who recovered nicely to an 8-7 lead for FaZe at halftime.
Unfortunately for BIG, the comeback was never turned into a lead on Inferno. FaZe controlled the second half on their CT-side, while BIG lost the chance after some close rounds and clutches going in favor of FaZe. It ended 16-10 to FaZe, who is now ready to face Astralis later tonight in the Royal Arena.
