FaZe captain: The pressure is on Gambit
Finn “karrigan” Andersen shared his thoughts on the upcoming quarter-final match against Gambit in a press conference.
It’s fair to say that FaZe Clan have managed to turn things around on LAN after beating Evil Geniuses and Complexity in the Play-in stage at the prominent IEM Cologne, as they were outsiders coming into the tournament. FaZe continued to make a surprise run following wins over Spirit, Vitality, and Heroic to secure themselves a quarter-final spot against Gambit.
Finn “karrigan” Andersen is optimistic ahead of the Gambit matchup and thinks his team have pretty good chances to make a deep run in the tournament, despite it being a very tough bracket.
“I think that no matter how you put it, the pressure is on Gambit. They are No.1 in the world, before this tournament we were ranked 36th, it would be a huge disaster for them not to win this match.”
“Even if we beat Gambit, we are underdogs in the next game,” the FaZe captain said. “Every game we play from now on, we are in the underdog role, and I’m happy to take that, it will relieve a lot of pressure from this team after we’ve made it this far. If people play freely, the pressure is on Gambit’s side, I think that is where we have our opening.”
karrigan and the rest of his squad will take upon Gambit on Friday at 19:15 (CET) to find out who will meet s1mple’s NAVI in the semi-final.
