Expert criticises Heroic players’ actions in “HUNDEN Gate”
YNk and others question the morality and mindset of certain Heroic players after recent admissions.
The two current Heroic players Casper “cadiaN” Møller and Martin “stavn” Lund became aware of their former coach Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen’s cheating just hours after it happened.
This was revealed yesterday, when Heroic decided to break their silence in the disputed case by uploading a 35-minute-long video statement, giving their side of the story.
The fact that the Heroic trio in stavn, niko, and the captain in cadiaN all knew about HUNDEN’s first usage of the prohibited spectator bug, but not decided to tell neither the Heroic organization nor ESIC about it, has made some experts and CS:GO figures question the morality of the certain players - One of them was the expert and analyst Janko "YNk" Paunović.
- This was the biggest takeaway for me as well, the chances of them being found guilty by ESIC were always slim to none due to lack of evidence but this speaks volumes about the mindset and moral compass of the players, YNk wrote and continued:
On top of that, they were perfectly fine with HUNDEN staying on as an "analyst" and then coming back as the full-time coach after the ban. If you were so concerned about doing what's right you should've cut ties with him immediately but no, you desired to win no matter the cost.
Milan Švejda, HLTV’s editor-in-chief also gave his perception on the matter, where he actually questions that not reporting a known cheating incident, is violating some of ESIC’s codes.
- I was pretty certain failure to report on wrongdoing is also somewhere in one of ESIC's codes, but I can't find it at the moment. But even if it isn't, it's at the very least a moral obligation, Švejda state on Twitter.
