Complexity more than likely ruin G2’s playoffs dream
G2 appear to be going out of ESL Pro League Season 14 with a loss against Complexity in a 3-map game.
G2 with big pressure on their shoulders before today’s matchup against Complexity at ESL Pro League Season 14, owing to their two defeats in the first two rounds. A good start on Vertigo wasn’t enough against a strong Complexity team and G2 is most likely out of the ESL Pro League, with only minimal playoff chances for the strong team.
Complexity was coming out strong to the first map on Vertigo, and a well-played Valentin "poizon" Vasilev was looking ready to fight with 8 kills in the first 3 rounds. G2 managed to turn the tide for a close lead of 8-7 in the first half. They continued their lead and was taking the first map in a close fight. 16-13 in G2’s favour.
Again, on Mirage was the match much even, and after the loss on the first map, Complexity had to take G2 map pick in to stay in the series. Both teams had to play wisely to get rounds. The lead went back and forth, but G2 was able to put an 8-7 lead before the switch.
Nikola "NiKo" Kovač with a quad-kill and clutch in the pistol round gave G2 a great start on the second half, but Complexity managed to make a comeback and forced the match into a third map.
On DD2 the Danish dominance by Complexity was huge, they almost roasted G2 and were quickly able to put a convincing 11-4 lead in the first half. There must have been big words spoken in the half, and the G2 was looking like a completely different team in the second half. They made it to a draw and kept the hope alive. The comeback was too big for a mouthful for G2 and suffered a defeat. It ended with a 16-13 win for Complexity, who perhaps could be back in contention for a spot in the playoffs.
