Complexity bests Fnatic in a crazy Mirage match!
Complexity defeats Fnatic 2-0 and moves on in the IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 event.
The first map took place on Inferno. Despite historically being one of Fnatic's absolute best maps, Complexity chose to remove Vertigo from the map pool instead of Inferno. The reason for this soon became clear, as Complexity showed their ability to answer Fnatic's inferno strategies. They went to half time leading 9-6.
However, Fnatic didn't roll over, and instead, it became a close exchange of rounds, where both of the two teams, seemingly, refused to lose. We had to go to overtime to find the superior team on Inferno, and with K0nfig leading the server with 36 kills, he carried his team to a 19-16 victory in overtime.
This meant Complexity leading as they headed on to their own map pick Mirage. With momentum carrying over from the first map, Complexity stormed out of the gates and managed to win 10 consecutive rounds, without being answered once by Fnatic. With a scoreline of 10-0, it seemed impossible for the legendary swedes to get a footing on Mirage, but somehow they turned on their engines and answered back.
This time it was Fnatic's turn to win 8 consecutive rounds in a row, bringing the scoreline to a more respectable 10-8. However, the comeback story of dreams ended here. Complexity composed themselves, shut out Fnatic and secured themselves a map and series win with a 16-8 victory on Mirage.
