Cloud9 confirm new head coach
The North American organization has announced Chris “Elmapuddy” Tebbit as the new coach of their CS:GO team.
Elmapuddy has been announced as the new head coach of Cloud9’s squad, taking over from Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunovic, who was dismissed back in December following a stylistic clash with the team's captain Alex “ALEX” McMeekin.
The Australian is a familiar face for the North American organization and the team as he has been an assistant coach for Cloud9 in late 2019. He decided to leave Cloud9 in December 2019 and followed two of his former player's footsteps in a move to Gen.G.
The 24-year-old coach will be in charge of the team at cs_summit 7 with Erick “Xeppaa” Bach in his debut after he was signed as a replacement for Özgur “woxic” Eker.
Cloud9 will hope to get a victory in their first match in Group B against FURIA and will, later on, face NiP and Virtus.pro. The two teams that finish on top in their group will advance to the upper bracket at the tournament, while the other will move on to the lower bracket.
Cloud9 are now:
Alex “ALEX” McMeekin
Ricky “floppy” Kemery
William “mezii” Merriman
Erick “Xeppaa” Bach
Patrick “es3tag” Hansen
Chris “Elmapuddy” Tebbit (coach)
Joshua “m1ck” Micks (assistant coach)
