Twistzz: “It's been a while since I felt this drive, to thrive and to reach the top"
We have sat down with the superstar rifler for an interview regarding his recent transfer to FaZe and what that means for him and his future.
The Canadian phenomenon Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken has for years been an important and honoured figure inside the world of CS:GO, with the 21-year old rifler being known for his notorious and mechanical skill set and as a cornerstone on an iconic Team Liquid roster.
On the star-studded NA team, the powerful rifler developed into a true superstar by winning some of the biggest events out there and clinching back-to-back appearances on HLTV’s annually Top 20. However, everything has its end, and in December last year, right after Liquid’s Grand Final loss to Astralis at IEM Global Challenge, Twistzz announced his departure from the team.

We have sat down with the man himself and talked about his blockbuster trade to FaZe Clan, and why he believes this will kickstart his career once again.
“I'm extremely happy with the deal, it's truly a breath of fresh air. And I think I can bring another positive voice, a new perspective on the game. I want to be friends with everyone on the team and I want us to grow as if we were a family.”
Twistzz continues by explaining what this new start on FaZe has meant to him and how it has restored his faith, both on a personal and team level.
“I'm given a fresh start with a new team and org. Having a new scenery and environment to play in has brought the joy of Counter-Strike back, when I wake up until the time I try to sleep, all I can think about is CS.
It's been a while since I felt this drive, to thrive and get to the top, I think this is going to be a very good year for myself and FaZe.”

Why FaZe, instead of other teams?
“I had choices but I was set on FaZe pretty early into my search, this team has everything to be the best, a young top tier AWPer and two players that are hungry to get back to the top and dominate once again.
When I look at what I want in a team, I don't just look at skill or in-game specialities, I try to imagine how I can mesh with the players, personality-wise and from my short time with the team, it has been some of the most fun I’ve had in a long time.” - Twistzz says
Our CS:GO expert, Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez is very excited for the transfer and he agrees with Twistzz, in this being a perfect match, and how he believes that Twistzz could be their missing piece.
Here's what Maniac has to say about the transfer:
Twistzz will get his official debut this Friday, when he and FaZe commence their campaign at BLAST Premier Spring Group, with their opening match being against no other than his former teammates from Team Liquid.
