Twistzz: "It is going to be a game for the history books"
We talked with the Canadian headshot machine "Twistzz" about reaching the Grand Final of the PGL Major 2022 in Antwerp
Reaching a Grand Final is always a huge accomplishment for any team in the professional CS:GO scene. Reaching a Grand Final of a major, however, is something that very few players get the chance to experience. When battling against nothing but the absolute best players in the world, on the biggest of stages at the most prestigious event there is in Counter-Strike, reaching the Grand Final is a moment that every player is sure to cherish for a very long time.
We talked with Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken after he and his teammates at FaZe managed to secure a spot in the Grand Final of the PGL Major 2022 in Antwerp. As one could imagine, the 22-year-old headshot machine was thrilled with his team's performance and how they handled a somewhat unknown quantity in Team Spirit:
"It's such an incredible feeling at the moment. It was a very tough game, before going into today we knew it was going to be a tough game, you could see it in how they played, how bad they wanted it, playing very precise, playing very patient with smart plays and smart calls by their leader. I'm just proud of our team mentality, how hard we fought to stay in the game and how hard we fought to take it over the line."
Despite besting Team Spirit after a long and hard-fought battle on Dust 2, the Canadian rifler praises the young CIS roster and is sure that we will see much more of them in the near future:
"They are set up for the future with how much confidence this is going to give them and honestly I am so thankful to have such a young team enter CS and be so good. It is good for the longevity of the game and it is good to have such good competition."
Moving past Team Spirit in the Semi-finals means that FaZe have secured a spot in the Grand Final tomorrow. Standing in the way of "karrigan" and FaZe's first Major trophy will either be Natus Vincere or ENCE. Speaking on the tomorrow's big game, "Twistzz" promises a brawl for the history books:
"It is going to be a game for the history books. It is going to be, I mean there is going to be another major this year, but this could be the best game of the year. We are hoping to provide some really good CS."
