TheMongolz and Imperial ready for Elimination Stage
It’s been an up-and-down day for the fans of Brazilian Counter-Strike.
The last day of the Opening Stage at the PGL Copenhagen Major started with heartbreak for Marcelo "coldzera" David and his Legacy team. Against TheMongolz, Legacy started well on both Ancient and Anubis but lost momentum on their T side, where the Mongolians defended well. A 13-6 loss on their own map pick of Anubis left no doubt, that TheMongolz was the right team to advance to the next stage of the tournament.
A couple of hours later Imperial joined them by winning their do-or-die match against GamerLegion. The Grand Finalist from the 2023 Major in Paris, could not keep up with the Brazilians, who could have finished the match on two maps, but threw away a big lead on Overpass. On Nuke, however, Imperial was way too strong for GamerLegion, who came to Copenhagen in the last minute after they replaced 9Pandas shortly before the start of the tournament.
There is now only one match left in the Opening Stage. SAW and FURIA go head-to-head in a battle for the last ticket to the Elimination Stage.
