FURIA edge past Imperial at ESL Pro League S17
A close encounter between the two Brazillian teams.
FURIA came out on top in the Brazillian clash against Imperial in their opening match at ESL Pro League S17.
Going into the matchup against their Brazilian rivals, FURIA was the favorite to take the win and move on to the upper bracket of group B. Led by KSCERATO FURIA came off to a great start on the CT side. Despite imperial fighting their absolute best to keep their T side in the game, FURIA went to halftime with a 9-6 lead. Imperial bounced back on the T side as they won the second pistol of the game. However, FURIA had ice in their veins as they closed out the game 16-13 on Inferno.
Switching to Mirage, FURIA once again came off to a great start as they took the first pistol round of the map. Imperial bounced back and secured themselves a decent CT side with a 9-6 lead. Winning the second pistol round of the match, Imperial had a 12-6 lead going into the later stages of the game. With saffee playing lights out and FURIA winning some important after-plant clutches, the map got tied at 15-15. The Worlds number #14 on the HLTV World Ranking List closed out the game on the T side of overtime. FURIA won Mirage 19-16 and the series 2-0.
