S1mple: IEM Katowice will be the showcase event
BLAST Spring Groups is just a warm-up according to s1mple.
On a recent stream, NAVI’s Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev stated that the upcoming IEM Katowice tournament will be the showcase event for the team, while the ongoing BLAST Spring Groups 2023 is just a warm-up. This comes after NAVI’s loss to G2 in the BLAST Spring Groups, where they were defeated 0-2.
s1mple stated the same as NAVI’s coach B1ad3 saying that this event is more of a training ground for the team after the break and the addition of a new player. He said, “IEM Katowice will be the showcase event for us, BLAST Spring Groups is just a warm-up.”
The Ukrainian AWPer also commented on the loss to G2, saying that NAVI had a rough start on the first and second map.
“Just like that, with a new player. It’s not that easy and simple. We had a rough start on the first and second map. We had our comeback on the second, but it wasn’t enough. How did we lose? I think everyone who wanted to see it, saw it. Unlike those who placed their bets and were just waiting for the game to end.”
NAVI are set to go up against Ninjas in Pyjamas in the Lower bracket of BLAST Spring Groups, fighting for the right to advance to the Group’s Final.
