s1mple closes in on dev1ce in the overall MVP standing*
Will the NAVI star soon get past the former Astralis titan?
* Updated 10th of October 2021 after dev1ce wins his 19th MVP award:
The dominant Russians from NAVI went down in history yesterday when they secured not only the trophy at ESL Pro League Season 14 but also the massive $1 Million Intel Grand Slam title.
NAVI’s star player Aleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyliev didn’t settle here. The Ukrainian superstar also took home the ‘Most Valuable Player' award from the entire event, after another magnificent performance by the CS:GO phenomenon. The MVP medal was his third in a row due to his two consecutive accolades at StarLadder CIS and IEM Cologne.
His strong MVP harvest this year means that s1mple has closed in on Nicolai ‘dev1ce’ Reedtz on the overall MVP leaderboard. s1mple’s five MVPs in 2021 sets him at 16, being only two lesser than the Danish power AWPer. A head-to-head duel, that might look way different when the year is over owing to s1mple and NAVI’s incredible form and strength at the moment.
