dev1ce wins the IEM Fall EU MVP award
The Danish superstar adds another personal accolade to an already glorified career.
If Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz decides to retire the first thing tomorrow, his name will be considered as one of the best and most influential players in Counter-Strike history – despite his modest age of 26 years.
However, that will most likely not happen, because at this moment in time dev1ce is playing some of his best CS:GO since his glory days in 2019. And on this Sunday, he and NIP managed to secure the title at the prestigious IEM Fall Europe after beating ENCE 3-1 in the Grand Final, which also gave him the 19th MVP award in his career so far
The Grand Final win concluded a perfect and completely flawless campaign by NIP, where the Swedish side went unbeaten throughout the entire event, beating strong teams like Vitality, FaZe and Fnatic. One of the key things for their great success was undoubtedly their powerhouse of an AWPer in dev1ce.
The Great Dane and his heroics did not go unnoticed as both HLTV and ESL, the tournament organizers behind the event, decided to hand him the MVP award for IEM Fall Europe.
- It feels so good to win this tournament. As I said, I feel like I’ve struggled individually and not been good enough, so getting this relief right before the Major, which is obviously our biggest goal this year, is really good and I hope we can build some momentum going into Major, even though we have so little Major experience in the team.
(…) The tournament here showed that, when we have the win conditions we need, then we can beat almost every team, dev1ce said to the desk following the Grand Final win.
