ropz: We have to reinvent ourselves
We talked with the FaZe rifler before their first match at BLAST Premier Spring Finals in Lisbon.
2022 has been a fantastic year for the players and fans of FaZe Clan in Counter-Strike. Three big titles including the PGL Antwerp Major have been the impressive output of the first half of the year.
For the players of FaZe the multiple titles and the current position as the number one team in the world have come with a price. They now find themselves in the spot, where they are the team to beat right now, while other teams are also looking closely at their way of approaching the game.
We spoke with FaZe's Estonian rifler Robin "ropz" Kool about the challenge of being the best team in the world and staying in that position.
For sure every team is looking to take us down. We see teams copying some of our strats, that we kind of invented. New smokelines on some maps, and new ways of taking map control. So teams are definitely taking some of our stuff into their own playstyles. It obviously works for them too, so its getting tougher and tougher to beat other teams because we are running out of stuff to surprise others with. We have to keep reinventing ourselves and work hard.
