IEM Rio is the last Tier-1 tournament before the start of the Paris Major in May. Both FaZe and Team Vitality have dropped down to the lower bracket after losses to FURIA and OG. Now the two teams collide in a massive elimination match in Group B. The winner will advance to the lower bracket final later on tonight.
The two teams faced each other in ESL Pro League one month ago. Here Vitality won 2-0, but on both maps (Anubis and Nuke) it was only after overtime, that the French/Danish/Israelian roster defeated FaZe.
Vitality has a slight edge when it comes to the map veto. Their auto-ban of Ancient is one of FaZe’s stronger maps. FaZe will ban Vertigo leaving these maps as the most likely scenario:
FaZe pick Overpass
Vitality pick Nuke
Anubis left as the decider.
There is a good chance that one of the maps in the match will go the distance and be settled in overtime. We think this could be a good pick if you are looking for a risky gamble today.
Map to end 15-15/Go to overtime – Odds 7
