G2 is not going to Rio! The star-studded roster was eliminated by GamerLegion after three maps.
Against GamerLegion it did not take G2 long to lock in their own map pick of Vertigo. It was only GamerLegion's AWP'er Frederik 'acoR' Gyldstrand, who had anything to bring to the table on the first map. That changed quickly on Mirage, as GamerLegion dealt G2 a huge blow. A stellar T side gave GamerLegion an 11-4 lead at the break which was converted to a 16-4 win.
Inferno was left as the decider, and what a game we got! GamerLegion continued impressing and took a 12-8 lead in the second half. The confidence was clearly growing round after round for the underdogs, who had activated their AWP'er Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand, who had several impactful rounds with rifles. An intense round saw NiKo win a 1vs1 clutch to keep GamerLegion within a distance. But then acoR created havoc again! With only a tech-9, the Dane plowed through the B-site to give his team the map and match point.
GamerLegion broke through the defense again on the B-site and secured the win despite m0NESY's best efforts. G2 is eliminated from the RMR, while GamerLegion still needs one more win to qualify. What a game!
