NiKo: I failed
The G2 superstar will go down in history as one of the greatest players in CS:GO to never win a Major.
It was his chance. The BLAST Paris Major trophy was his to take.
Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and G2 were heavy favourites to lift the title going into the Major after having been by far the best team throughout 2023 thus far. A victory that would grant the Bosnian superstar his first CS:GO Major.
However, the success did not materialize in Paris at all, as we saw G2 crumble even before the playoff stage began in Accor Arena, marking an end to NiKo’s relentless quest of winning a CS:GO Major.
All something he talks about in a newly-released vlog, with the headline “I failed”, on his YouTube channel, putting some words on G2’s disappointing Major campaign.
- I don’t know where to start, but as you guys have already seen we failed to win the last CS:GO Major, and we even failed to get to the playoffs. It’s a very disappointing result for the team, and I’m just embarrassed by the way we played today and on the first day [in Legends Stage], NiKo said and continued:
- It sucks that we went out so early and we don’t even get the chance to go on the stage and play in front of the French crowd. I’m going to say sorry for how we played – or I don’t want to apologize - but we’re not happy or satisfied with the result. There will be more opportunities in Counter-Strike 2, where a new chapter starts and the grind will continue. I will keep hunting for events and Majors.
