NaVi victory in a three-map thriller
Natus Vincere ended up winning in the upper bracket quarter-final of the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2021 against FaZe!
The first map pick was from FaZe who chose Ancient as their map pick.
The new map Ancient it very difficult to plant the bomb, because the CT side can come from so many sides as the bombsites are very open.
In the second half at the new map, NaVi took control as they were the CT side, and they ended up winning the first half 9-6.
But something changed in the second half, and it was clear for everyone that FaZe has practiced the map very much lately, as they closed down the bombsites to the fullest!
FaZe didn’t give one round to NaVi in the second half where they won 10-0 which was enough for FaZe to win the first map.
A clear demonstration of power as the CT side from FaZe showed their cards, as they have practiced the map very much before the start of the event.
9-16 (Ancient) | karrigan – 1.63 Rating / 22-12 K-D / 100.3 ADR
The second map was on Dust2, where it was NaVi´s choice of the map.
In the first half FaZe ended up calling the shots as the CT side, they defended the bombsites with great movement and positioning, which made it hard for the Russian side.
FaZe ended up winning the first half 8-7, and had the upper hand before the shift from CT to T, as we know Dust2 is the most T-side dominated map.
But NaVi defended the bombsites nearly perfect in the second half and came back on the map and ended up winning the second half 9-6, which was enough for them to win the map 16-14.
16-14 (Dust2) | rain – 1.48 Rating / 28-18 K-D / 97.1 ADR
Therefore, a third and deciding map was needed to find the winner of the match.
The last map was the legendary Mirage, which is one of the most played maps in CS:GO.
NaVi started as the T side, where they delivered a great half. They won the half 9-6 and gave themselves a big chance of winning the map.
In the second map FaZe fought bravely, but it wasn’t enough for them, as NaVi were too strong as the CT side and managed to win themselves seven rounds in the end. Which resulted in a 16-14 map win for NaVi.
