NAVI top out Group C in ESL Pro League!
s1mple and company will skip one round of the playoffs after securing the first spot in Group C of ESL Pro League Season 14.
NAVI have clinched their fourth victory in Group C at ESL Pro League Season 14, taking down karrigan’s troops from FaZe in a convincing 2-0 series to secure a spot in the Quarter-finals. Additionally, this victory powers ALEX’s troops from fnatic to the playoffs stage.
FaZe Clan were able to get an early start on their map pick of Inferno after taking the pistol and the round afterwards. The firsts gun round however went to s1mple and company following a successful retake, allowing them to string three rounds in a row to go up 3-2. NAVI and FaZe both traded rounds until the halftime whistle, but it ended up being Boombl4’s troops who grabbed the small advantage right before halftime, 8-7. The Russian-Ukrainian squad kicked into another gear as they switched to T-side. After winning the pistol round, the CIS side went on to absolutely dominate FaZe Clan out of the server. They didn’t allow FaZe to grab a single round before closing out the map 16-7 to draw the first blood to the series.
NAVI’s pick of Nuke held a different story compared to the one on Inferno. It was a highly contested affair with both teams firing on all cylinders until the very end. The first half was quite competitive, with FaZe Clan taking a standard 9-6 lead from the CT-side. NAVI began their defense on a high note, converting the pistol and the following three rounds to take the lead 10-9. FaZe Clan started to find their footing as soon as their economy started rolling and managed to grab three rounds right after. But NAVI didn’t let themselves affect of the pressure as they answered back by taking the following four rounds to go up 14-12 on the scoreboard. Just when it looked like NAVI were going to close out the map, FaZe climbed their way back and made it to match point, before NAVI secured the last round with Deagles to force overtime.
