NAVI eliminates EG at ESL Pro League
Natus Vincere is back to winning ways after a clear 2-0 win.
Despite a lackluster performance on Inferno from the best player in the world, Aleksandr 's1mple' Kostyliev, NAVI still managed to win their fourth-round match against Evil Geniuses.
The North Americans needed to win without dropping a map to survive at the tournament, but that dream was cut short by 'electronic' and 'B1T', who made life difficult for EG on Inferno. The couple was guarding the A-bomb site to perfection, which in the end was enough for NAVI, who had to rely on others than s1mple, who were outgunned by EG and especially Brezhe, who went 10-3 in duels with the Ukrainian. NAVI won EG's map pick with 16-12.
So, when you can't beat NAVI when 'simple' drops one of his worst maps in the year, it spells trouble. And when you calculate the fact, that the best player in the world would not deliver two maps in a row with subpar performances, it was an uphill battle for EG.
On Nuke the Ukrainian came alive again and terrorized the North Americans, who most likely knew, that there would be a bashing incoming with a vengeance. And once again the new star of NAVI, Valeriy 'B1T' Vakhovskiy joined in, and together they denied any last attempts from Evil Geniuses to make something of their Pro League journey.
With the victory, NAVI reaches nine points in Group C before tomorrow's last round, where they will fight FaZe to make the last push towards the playoffs. EG can not make it through and will play their last match at the tournament against Fnatic tomorrow.
