Movistar Riders defeats Copenhagen Flames and qualifies for the Stockholm Major
The Spanish Organization can celebrate after they dismantled their Danish opponents at IEM Fall Europe.
It is only one month ago, that Movistar Riders made the transition to an all-Spanish lineup. A move that has paid off big time at IEM Fall Europe, where the Spaniards today could celebrate their qualification for the PGL Major in Stockholm after a 2-0 win against Copenhagen Flames.
On Vertigo Movistar Riders had to overcome a tough Copenhagen Flames roster, who had the upper hand in the late stage of the match. But the Spanish Riders found a way back and forced the map into overtime, where they completed the comeback winning 19-17.
Ancient was the pick of Copenhagen Flames for the second map. Here the Danes had to deal with Alvaro 'SunPayus' Garcia, who continued his impressive form. As one of the new additions to the Movistar Riders roster, the 22-year-old has been a revelation for the Spanish side. On Ancient 'SunPayus' went 31-10 in K-D to deny any hope for Copenhagen Flames to make a comeback in the match.
Movistar Riders is through to the Major in Stockholm, while Copenhagen Flames will need to beat the loser of Fiend vs G2 to make their way to the Major.
