karrigan: We are on the right direction; we just need to be braver on the server
We have sat down with the FaZe captain to talk about their Major campaign and the upcoming BLAST Fall Final.
In February this year, the superstar in-game leader Finn “karrigan” Andersen returned to FaZe Clan for his second tenure at the profiled team. His first couple of months with the squad wasn’t that successful for the Danish captain, however, a great IEM Cologne run and a glimpse of excellence at the PGL Major in Stockholm suggest a promising outlook for the sleeping giant.
We got the opportunity to have a chat with karrigan before FaZe’s next challenge at BLAST Premier Fall Final, where the 31-year-old Dane ask for more bravery and courage for him and the team while being on the server.
- We are not doing big changes going into BLAST Premier Fall Final. (…) People saw how we played at the Major, and people were kind of excited about how we played. We knew what we did wrong and it’s fixable. Against Virtus.pro we were too scared to win, at least it felt like that when we saw the match afterwards. So, we just need to have the mentality to play to win constantly and remind ourselves that if we’re in front we don’t be scared to take chances.
At this point in time, we just have to trust the process because we’re on the right direction after a very tough first four months. The previous months have been better – we have been a stable top 10 team since June – but we still need one last step to become a title contender. Hopefully, we can do that here at BLAST, karrigan said to Pley.gg.
You can watch the entire interview with karrigan in the video below, and hear him explain why FaZe did so good at IEM Cologne but also what the return of LAN events will mean for FaZe.
Will karrigan and FaZe be able to bounce back?
FaZe has a great and impressive track record in BLAST events, with the American-based organizations having won two titles in the past at BLAST Pro Series Miami and BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen back in 2019. Their last tournament win was in September last year when they won IEM Master New York.
At this year's IEM Cologne karrigan and his troops showed impressive form and a promising prospect, as they took down heavy-hitters like Gambit, Heroic, and Vitality. A strong display, which will be interesting to see whether they manage to bring out the same energy at BLAST Premier Fall Final.
