Back in December 2022 when G2 clinch their first trophy since the DreamHack Masters Malmö 2017, the mixed European team has become a completely different roster. G2 has been playing lights out at the IEM Katowice 2023 beating the likes of FaZe and Natus Vincere in a dominant 2-0 fashion.

G2 struggled during the 2022 season but following their victory at BLAST Premier Fall Finals, the squad led by Rasmus 'HooXi' Nielsen gained so much confidence that they now are favorites to win IEM Katowice 2023. After taking down last year's IEM Katowice champions, G2 secured themselves the number-one spot on the HLTV World Ranking list.

huNter- is certain that confidence has been the main reason behind their recent success.

- I think it was different, we started really bad as they were leading 5-0, and we knew that we made some individual mistakes but we didn't give up so we just kept on fighting because we knew that we would bounce back. Confidence is everything and we have it now.
