Horror debut for new Team Spirit roster
Fnatic got off to an excellent start at DH Open with a very dominant victory against Team Spirit.
It looked at times like the Fnatic roster was smurfing in the match against Team Spirit. Both teams have recently undergone big changes, with Team Spirit being the most recent one after the Major. In-game leader Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov has been put on the transfer list with 18-year-old Robert "Patsi" Isyanov filling his shoes. Aleksandr 'KaiR0N-' Anashkin is also a fresh face on the team replacing Nikolay "mir" Bitiukov. At first glance, it looks like there is a long way to go for the new Spirit roster.
Against Fnatic, it was one-way traffic. On Mirage Ludvig 'Brollan' Brolin had a wonderful time going 8-1 in entry kills and 28-13 in K-D score. The entire Fnatic roster ended with the map with a minimum rating of 1.21, which told a story about a struggling Spirit side. Young in-game leader Robert "Patsi" Isyanov came short against the much more experienced Alex 'ALEX' McMeekin, who guided his troops to a 16-9 win on Spirit's map pick.
It only got worse on Inferno. Here Spirit only managed to collect four-round wins after getting battered by Fnatic.
Tomorrow Spirit will face another CIS team in the rebuilding phase when they go up against forZe in the first elimination match in Group B at DreamHack Open November. Fnatic will face ENCE for a spot in the playoffs.
