Heroic send Team Vitality packing in Antwerp

Heroic are through to the playoffs at the Major in Antwerp, following a 2-1 victory over Team Vitality!

The series began on Vitality’s pick of Mirage, where Heroic’s stavn kicked-off things with a beautiful 4k in the pistol round. After stavn’s 4k with the duals, Heroic looked inspired and immediately pushed themselves into the highest gear, as they out-fought Vitality for the rest of the half, 13-2. It looked like Heroic were ready to draw the first blood to the series right after winning the first two rounds of the second half, but Vitality scored five more rounds to stave off the humiliation of a 2-16 loss before the Danish squad closed out Mirage.

Overpass was up next, and here the Danes got off to a great start once again by grabbing an early 6-2 lead on the T-side. In a team effort, Vitality stayed competitive and stabilized their defense, which helped them take the lead at one point before Heroic went on to grab the remaining two rounds of the half to finish it with a single-round lead. The beginning of the second half was all about Team Vitality. apEX’s men put together a strong offense and stormed to a 9-13 lead. However, the Danish squad somehow managed to stay within touching distance and nearly forced the game into OT, but thanks to some key moments from misutaaa, Vitality evened out the series, and the match went to Inferno.

Heroic wrapped up the series on Inferno after closing it out 16-12, with stavn topping the scoreboard. The Dane dropped 34 frags and played a big role in securing the last map of the series. stavn on Inferno: 34-17 K/D, 121.5 ADR, 78.6% KAST, 1.80 Rating.
