Heroic ease past Spaniards to book Legend spot
The #5 seed is the latest team to secure a place in the favourable Legend Stage at the PGL Stockholm Major.
Heroic commenced the Stockholm Major red-hot with two straight victories in the first round of play - however, after a pair of consecutive losses to Copenhagen Flames and Entropiq, they were suddenly one defeat away from elimination. Something, the Danes could avoid by beating the underdogs from Movistar Riders.
And that was exactly what Heroic did this Friday afternoon at the $2 Million tournament. The Casper “cadiaN” Møller-led side presented some great character in the match, where they quickly shook off their previous losses by steamrolling over Movistar Riders with a 2-0 win.
The compelling sweep was kicked off with an extremely dominant win on Movistar Riders’ map pick of Inferno, where especially the young gun Martin “stavn” Lund was a vital factor in the 16-7 butchery, handing out a total of 116.6 in damage throughout the first map.
On Overpass, things got more heated and competitive, as the Spaniards stepped up their game massively. Yet, Heroic still proved out to be too tall of an ask for the Iberian underdogs, as they could see the series be concluded with a 16-14 scoreline.
