Heroic defeat Renegades 2-0

The opening round of Group A saw, newly shaped, Renegades taking on the task of Heroic. Heroic themselves have gone through quite a change recently, switching out "niko" and "b0RUP" for "sjuush" and "refrezh".

Despite the new additions and role changes, however, Heroic showed an eagerness to win that was difficult for Australian Renegades to contain. Heroic, therefore, managed to take home their first victory of ESL Pro League Season 13 by beating Renegades in a 2-0 series win.

The first map of the series was picked by the Renegades side. We headed to Inferno to find out exactly which of the two teams were going to have the upper hand in the series. It was the Australians to have the best start, creating a 4-0 lead for themselves. This, however, ended shortly after and the match continued as close as possible. In the end, Heroic managed to snatch away the victory from Renegades after beating them in overtime 19-16.

The match resumed after a short break on Train, the map choice of Heroic. The Danes came flying out of the gate and managed to create an 8-0 lead before being answered back by Renegades. Impressively the Renegades side kept their spirits high and as a result, they clawed themselves back to an 11-4 scoreline at halftime. In the end, however, the early momentum from Heroic was too much for Renegades to handle and the Danes finish Train with a 16-5 scoreline.

The victory against Renegades marks a strong start for Heroic at the ESL Pro League Season 13. They will seek to carry on their winnings ways in their upcoming series.
