Heroic defeat BIG in opening match
The Danish squad from Heroic continue through the Group A upper bracket after taking down BIG in their opening match.
Heroic are through the upper bracket in Group A at IEM Katowice following a clean 2-0 victory over Berlin International Gaming in their opening match. It took all 30 rounds on Nuke for Heroic to get the clean sweep and send BIG to the lower bracket. Heroic are now set to face off against Spirit on Friday in the upper semi-finals, while BIG will meet G2 in the lower bracket.

The series started on BIG’s pick of Inferno where Heroic were in control most of the time. cadiaN troops finished off a nearly perfect first half on CT-side with a 12-3 lead, before the Germans started to string some rounds together. Five rounds in a row in the beginning of the second half wasn’t enough for the German squad to make a comeback and instead Heroic closed out the map 16-12.
On Nuke both teams followed each other most of the time, but a strong performance from Heroic’s captain helped the Danes secure the victory in the end after 30 rounds of play to stay on track in the upper bracket.
