Gambit win IEM Fall CIS
Hobbit and company made quick work of NAVI in the grand final.
Gambit have won the IEM Fall CIS grand final, following an impressive 2-0 victory over s1mple and company from NAVI. The IGL of Gambit, Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov stated in the post-match interview that there was little to play for either team, but they will use the grand final victory as a confidence booster ahead of the Major in Stockholm.
Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov stood out in the event and secured his second MVP award of his career, with his previous one coming from IEM Katowice 2021. The 20-year-old AWPer topped the leaderboards for Rating (1.45), clutches (7), K/D (+105), KPR (0.89), DPR (0.47), and KAST (77.9%). He also finished on top of the scoreboard in the grand final with a 1.55 rating.
The action of the grand final started off on Gambit’s pick of Overpass, where Hobbit’s troops put up a strong offense. Gambit ended the first half with a 9-6 advantage and only allowed NAVI to grab a single round in the second half, before closing out the map with an impressive 16-7 scoreline.
Gambit wrapped up the series on NAVI’s pick of Mirage, where they once again showcased a strong Terrorist side. But this time, NAVI climbed back after being behind 3-7 and ended the first half with a 8-7 scoreline in their favor. However, Gambit’s CT side proved to be too strong as Hobbit’s troops went on to close out the map comfortably, 16-11, only allowing NAVI to grab three rounds.
