Gambit takes home yet another title in 2021

The Russian youngsters have been crowned as the winners of the first CIS RMR this year, in front of Virtus.pro.

Gambit has just cemented their name on the top of CS:GO, with the Russian youngsters having just sealed the title at EPIC League CIS 2021. The world #1 secured the astounding victory by defeating the also profiled Virtus.pro squad at the Grand Final, which means that Gambit is taking home the 1st prize of 1600 RMR Points.

After snatching each other’s map pick on the first two maps of Train and Dust2 in quite swift fashion, the two teams fought a way tougher battle on Vertigo. On the 51-story skyscraper, we saw Gambit present a stellar comeback where they managed to retaliate, despite being down 10-5 at the half-point mark. As well as on Dust2, it was the experienced Abay “Hobbit” Khasenov who led Gambit to a close 16-14 win by putting up a 1.25 Rating.

Following their crushing win on Dust2 and the impressive comeback on the previous map, Gambit decided not to look back at any point in time. The CS:GO titans started to show their very top level, transforming the otherwise strong VP-side into bystanders at the “Gambit Show”.

Gambit’s young IGL Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov mounted the perfect defence on Overpass by installing two powerful and very dominant outposts in Hobbit and Ax1Le, who led a fierce CT-side that presented one crucial play after another. The strong CT defence, followed up by a likewise strong T-side helped Gambit to consolidate the decisive 3-1 map win.
