Gambit grinds down Complexity on two maps
The World's number one was under pressure against the "Juggernaut".
Complexity is currently in a season-defining stage, where the full roster is bootcamping in Denmark for 40 days straight. The overall goal is to prove, that it is these five players, who should continue to represent the North American team in the future.
At BLAST Premier Spring Finals blameF and his teammates had started well with a 2-0 victory against Ninjas in Pyjamas in the opening match. In today's upper semi-final they were tasked with the most difficult job in Counter-Strike in these times, where Gambit was on the other side of the server.
With the map veto going to Mirage and Vertigo, the job seemed even harder. Gambit has an 82% win rate on Mirage and a 92% on Vertigo...
Gambit took their T-side 9-6, but then Complexity began to fight back. At 12-10 in favor of the underdogs, it was all lined up for a surprise victory on the first map. But then disaster struck. Gambit was on a full pistol round against a full buy from Complexity in round 23. Here the Russians managed to win the round, which left the "Juggernaut" with no money and no chance in the remaining rounds.
On to Vertigo. Here Complexity came off flying. Gambit got on the scoreboard for the first time in round seven. A promising start for the entire Complexity roster, who seemed determined to force the match to a third map.
But then it turned around once again. Gambit simply grinded their way back into the match. Calm, cool, and collective as always they steered away from trouble and took home their own map pick 16-13.
