The action of the second semi-final in the Showdown event began on Heroic’s pick of Inferno. Even though the Danes managed to get the perfect start by taking a quick 3-0 lead on the offense, they didn’t manage to grab more than another three rounds afterwards, as Gambit went on to dominate them out of the server and close the map 16-6 to take a 1-0 series lead.
Heroic answered back by stealing Gambit’s map pick of Vertigo and get revenge for their 3-16 Vertigo loss to Gambit last week by winning it 16-9 now. TeSeS and stavn stepped up huge and were the leading forces for Heroic with 42 frags combined.
On the decider of Train, Heroic stormed to a 7-0 lead on the offense and it seemed like they were going to embarrass Gambit out of the server. But Gambit managed to find their footing and lower their deficit to only one round right before halftime. In the second half, Heroic won the pistol and took the round afterwards, but then all of a sudden, sh1ro and company started to get heated and took the lead, 14-12. The Danes missed some key opportunities that could have turned the game around, but instead Gambit went on to close out the map and wrap up the series 2-1.
